I'm Not Really Sure

A Fellow Cub Scout Dad Sent This And I Felt Compelled To Share It Because Of The Paradoxes

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my friend is the beginning of the end of any society.

Like Many People, jeff noel Loves Quotes, But Uses Them Sparingly

St Augustine, Florida lighthouse shadow, May 26, 2011. Our character is a directional beacon (or not).

Who doesn’t love quotes. But what jeff noel has discerned is eventually we ought to start saying what we believe, in our own words. It forces us to understand the quote even more. Here’s one worth sharing:

Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing. The force of character is cumulative. – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance

My version of Emerson’s quote: When our children start looking for the face of God in the real world, they shouldn’t have to look farther than across the dinner table.

WELCOME Message: A Different Kind Of Different, That’s How jeff noel Describes The Blog Whisperer

A different kind of different, that’s how jeff noel describes The Blog Whisperer, The Internet’s Only Five-A-Day Blogger. Every morning, whispering to the world, “Live, before you die”.

Here’s noel’s simple, but profound model for health, wellness and life-work balance:

Erin Kramp Did What jeff noel The Blog Whisperer Is Doing

Try to live so they don’t have to wonder. jeff noel’s son age 4 (2006).

What Parent alive would want to be forgotten by their child? What parent wouldn’t want to teach their child important life lessons?

Have a sense of urgency about your life? Erin Kramp did, because she was dying and knew it. Erin wanted her young daughter to remember her.

It worked.

Some of Erin Kramp’s story is here.

And there’s a foundation here.

jeff noel, The Blog Whisperer has spent the past 26 months blogging every day to leave a trail for his young son (now 10) in case something bad happens.

Live every day like the phone could ring with your wake up call.

People Think Twitter Is An Amazing Marketing Tool

Yesterday, listening to a 20-something (I think) share advice on Small Business Marketing, she said Twitter is great because so many people can instantly get your message. (smile/grin)

Rubbish. The people who think they know Twitter are the ones who don’t. Twitter can be powerful. Just like diet & exercise can be powerful. Or reading lots of great books.

But most don’t do any of it.

But Aimee Mullins gets it. jeff noel gets it. The two collided 15 minutes ago. This TED video could spark something great for us today… “How my legs give me super powers”:

The Internet's Only One

He Exclaimed, “You Have 9 Websites?”

Can anyone place this highly visible Walt Disney World landmark?

Yesterday I had the opportunity to have lunch with our 4th-grade son at school. Ashamed to admit this is a welcome privilege for any parent, any day.

What’s my excuse for not knowing?

Like any busy (parent) professional speaker, traveling for a living, managing time is challenging. Even primitive hunters long ago would be away from their children too often.

Anyway, everyone at school knows I work full-time at Disney World. Our son’s teacher even works there part-time. Not many know about the small-business entrepreneurial startup I founded 30 months ago.

So when I get there, our son’s friend exclaimed, “You have 9 websites?”

It was an unusual welcome. So smiling, and thinking for a moment, I said, “Um, I think there are 10. Five main blogs and five secondary blogs”.

Later that day, just to be sure, I counted to verify. Yep. Ten.

I don’t write about Disney or represent Disney in any way in my blogs, but it sure looks like I have the same creative and entrepreneurial spirit as Walt Disney.

Try many approaches, experiment. Work it, and work it hard.

My son says I’m famous.

I’ll take that.

The Blog Whisperer has his moments.

Dance Like Tonight’s Your Last Night To Live

Don’t you love mixing things up? Ok, so I’m assuming you have a basic understanding of how routines can be good and routines can be bad. This is what makes life hard, telling the difference, or knowing when to switch gears.

Most times, change is placed upon us. Other times, we make it happen on purpose.

Small, medium, big. Doesn’t matter as much as the act of initiating change. Purposeful, thoughtful change. That’s the ticket.

But alas, we get so sucked up in the daily grind.

May I illustrate a simple change that can lead to something remarkable?

The simplest of acts, I changed the radio station in the car to MIX105, from TheZ88.3

One, Contemporary Christian, the other, Mainstream mega-hits. Something pulled on my psyche to change. No ready explanation. Just did it. A week ago.

Heard this song coming home from Gold’s Gym tonight:

You know what happened next?

Immediately, I thought, “Write like tonight’s your last night.”

The implications, the freedom, the audacity, the passion, the potential to bust it wide open….

There is something empowering beyond all empowering in how we’d behave if we knew for certain that we wouldn’t see tomorrow.

To Get Someone’s Attention…

…..That’s right, whisper.

A college buddy’s wife (just) sent this. She launches High School Musicals, among the many other hats she wears as a Music Teacher. She was perusing my blogs and must have been reading about getting the first best-selling book done. Not sure if she knows Mark and I are ‘birds of a feather’.

“Don’t wait until everthing is just right, it will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what?! Get started now! With each step you take you will grow stronger and stronger. More and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” – Mark Victor Hansen.

Have a hunch, the quote means a lot to her. Putting on a High School Musical is a monumental task, with a huge audience ready to critique. But she’s never let that stop her.

Hi, I’m jeff noel, The Blog Whisperer, The Internet’s Only Five-a-Day Blogger, each morning whispering to the world, “Live, before you die”.

Dying Daily?

The largest portion of our life passes while we are doing ill, a goodly share while we are doing nothing, and the whole while we are doing that which is not to the purpose. What man can you show me who places any value on his time, who reckons the worth of each day, who understands that he is dying daily? For we are mistaken when we look forward to death; the major portion of death has already passed. Whatever years be behind us are in death’s hands. –Seneca
